Twilight @ Hancock’s Garden

324 Hancock St., Brooklyn, NY [btwn Throop & Tompkins Aves.]

presented by Viewsic Dance & Pencil Sharp Tutoring Services, LLC

Tucked away in a quaint picturesque, yet peaceful, Brooklyn garden, nestled within the urban ruggedness of the city life is a patch of greenery that comes alive with Brooklynites. Twilight @ Hancock’s Garden is a platform highlighting the many hidden talents of the New York ARTS community that is right in its own backyard. Our mission is to focus on the inextricably bound elements of the arts and social narration to visualize a more compassionate, understanding and greater awareness of the many hidden talents that are right outside the garden’s walls. We look forward to seeing you at Twilight @ Hancock’s Garden as summer heats-up. Come and be entertained while sitting under the trees. ***List of performers coming soon. Hosted by BED-STUY COMMUNITY COALITION| THE HANCOCK COMMUNITY BACKYARD GARDEN PARK

WHAT ARE OUR GOALS?

Of the numerous events held in this space, we plan to fund programming for our thriving diverse Bedford Stuyvesant community who may not be as fortunate to afford the cost of Broadway plays, or the expensive prices of many shows. It is our mission to reach the community of Bedford Stuyvesant through the arts by providing them with New York artists. Your generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue in our work.

Event Dates: July (TBA) & August (TBA)

-Featuring some of New York best Performers: Dancers, Poets, Musicians, and Vocalists

In order to meet our goals and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals for support.

Your donations support:

  • Artists Fees
  • Materials for the Venue
  • Artists Transportation
  • Youth Workshops
  • Hiring of Staff

About the Event

Come and join us as we celebrate a cabaret-style event as dancers glide across the stage, vocal sounds that pierce through the summer breeze, poets who grasp at your inner emotions, and musicians who will put you in a trance.

Risks and challenges

Every Public Performing Art Fund project presents a new set of challenges to navigate — such is the reality of commissioning ambitious and boundary-pushing works of art in unconventional places! However, our team has been hard at work for many months ironing out the kinks.

As a not-for-profit organization, it’s only through the support of our community that we can make artists’ dreams a reality, so that they may surprise and fascinate New Yorkers and visitors from across the globe with the fruits of their labor. Thank you for being a part of this incredible project!
